TikTok and Billie Eilish present the first-ever TikTok music effect challenge—HIT ME HARD AND SOFT Effect Challenge!
Effect House is TikTok’s free effect-creation tool for Mac and PC. When you create and publish TikTok effects in Effect House, creators around the world can use them in their videos. Your effect could be the next big TikTok trend!
Now, with the integration of the TikTok Sounds Library in Effect House, you can add popular music and TikTok sounds to your effects — like the songs from Billie Eilish’s latest album.
Create effects inspired by Billie Eilish’s new album for a chance to win cash prizes, signed merch, and tickets to see her live.
What we’re looking for
Create effects that feature songs from Billie Eilish’s new album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, using TikTok Sounds Library in Effect House.
Tip: Favorite a sound from the Sounds tab on @billieeilish‘s TikTok profile, and it will appear in your Favorites of the TikTok Sounds Library in Effect House!
Support for the “default sound” functionality will be gradually rolled out to all TikTok users via an upcoming app update and may not be available for all users during the challenge period.

How to enter
- Download and create your effect using Effect House.
- On the Publish Effect form, complete the required fields and select Billie Eilish Challenge under Challenge. Make sure to add a song from HIT ME HARD AND SOFT as the default sound for your effect.
- Click Next to review your submission.
- Click Submit and you’re all set!

Open to legal residents of a region where Effect House and TikTok are available and who are at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority, at the time of entry. Enter by submitting an effect as described in the terms between May 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM PT and June 16, 2024 at 11:59 PM PT. 12 winner[s] will be selected by a panel of judges based on specific criteria set out in the terms. Username and profile picture of winner[s] will be displayed. Reward: 1. $5,000 cash prize, two concert tickets to see Billie Eilish at the closest show to your region, a signed vinyl copy of HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, and a merch package, 2. $1,000 cash prize, 3. $250 cash prize. Limit of one Reward per person/Challenge. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
