What is a qualified effect?

An effect is considered a qualified effect once it reaches 100,000 unique public video publishes within its first 90 days, or when it starts collecting rewards.

What is a qualified video publish?

Qualified video publishes are public TikTok videos (videos publicly posted on TikTok that use the effect you submitted through Effect House) from eligible regions within its first 90 days. Only unique qualified video publishes count towards the rewards. For example, if a user publishes 2 different videos using the same effect on the same day, this counts as 1 qualified video publish. Qualified video publishes include only public videos after March 12, 2024, but may include private videos published before March 12, 2024.

Can I collect rewards from effects used in private videos?

No. Only effects used in public videos are eligible to collect rewards.

Can I still collect rewards from effects I've published in the past?

Rewards and Payouts

How are rewards calculated?

Creators collect rewards based on total qualified video publishes, or unique public videos from eligible regions that used their effect within the first 90 days. When an effect reaches 100,000 unique public video publishes, a creator will start collecting rewards. They will continue to collect rewards for every additional qualified video publish until the end of the 90-day period, or until they reach the maximum reward. Reward amount may vary based on several factors, including the region where the videos were published.

Is there a maximum reward per creator?

The maximum payout a single effect can collect is $14,000 USD. The maximum payout a single creator can collect per month is $50,000 USD.

How do creators get the reward?

Creators will be asked to set up their preferred payment method and tax information during the application process. Once the application is approved, all published effects and rewards collected will be shown on the dashboard.

Rewards over $10 USD will be paid out on the 15th of the following month and transferred to your preferred payment method. Rewards lower than $10 USD will continue to accrue until it reaches $10 USD or after 6 months, whichever comes first.

The payment method can be changed at any time in Payment settings, which can be accessed through the dashboard.

What is RPM?

RPM means Revenue Per Mille or reward amount per 1,000 unique public video publishes. This amount may vary and fluctuate over time based on several factors, including the region where the video was published.

Payouts for effects published before March 12, 2024

All effects published before March 12, 2024 at 12:00 AM GMT, when the updated Effect Creator Rewards officially launched, will continue to follow the original payout structure and requirements. This means that for every effect that reaches 200,000 qualified video publishes within its first 90 days, creators will collect cash payouts based on RPM. All effects published from March 12 onwards will follow the new structure and requirements.

What if my effect is removed or deactivated? How will that impact my rewards?

If your effect is removed or deactivated, it won't be able to gain new video publishes, which means it will stop collecting rewards. However, all video publishes gained prior to your effect's removal or deactivation will still be counted towards your next payout.

Is Effect Creator Rewards the only way I can monetize my effects?

No. You can also participate in the Effect House Monthly Missions and Challenges to unlock more paid opportunities. A single effect can potentially qualify for all three programs at the same time.

Why is the reward amount on my dashboard different from what I received?

There may be times when your dashboard does not reflect your most updated payout amount. Please refer to the Monthly earnings statement within the TikTok app to get the most updated information.

To view your Monthly earnings statement:

  1. Go to your Profile
  2. Tap Menu
  3. Tap Settings and privacy
  4. Select Balance

Why am I seeing different numbers in the Effect Creator Rewards dashboard, Effect House Analytics, and TikTok?

Data from your Effect Creator Rewards dashboard may differ from the numbers you see in Effect House Analytics and the TikTok app. This is because Effect Creator Rewards excludes deleted, duplicated, banned, and some private videos. It also excludes videos that can't be counted toward Effect Creator Rewards, such as videos from ineligible regions and multiple videos of the same effect posted by the same user within a day. (For example, if a TikTok creator publishes 5 videos using the same effect on the same day, it only counts as 1.) For a more accurate view of your rewards, please refer to the Effect Creator Rewards dashboard.
