Mobile Effect Editor

TikTok's mobile effect editor allows you to make effects directly from the TikTok app without having to download another app or tool. That means anyone - no matter their skill level or access to advanced tools or software - can become an effect creator and make effects that spark trends on TikTok.

Access TikTok's mobile effect editor​

You can select an available template and customize it, or you can create an effect from scratch!

note

Make sure you are not recording in photo or text mode to access the Create tab.

Create an effect using a template​

  1. In the TikTok app, tap the Add new post [+] button.
  2. In video mode (15s, 60s, or 10m), tap Effects.
  3. Go to the Create tab and select a template of your choice.
  4. Follow the prompts on the screen to customize the template.

Create an effect from scratch​

  1. In the TikTok app, tap the Add new post [+] button.
  2. In video mode (15s, 60s, or 10m), tap Effects.
  3. Go to the Create tab.
  4. Tap the Add new effect [+] button.
  5. Add an object to start creating!
