Effect Creator Rewards: Debunking 3 Myths About Monetization

Since we launched Effect Creator Rewards last year, creators worldwide have been able to collect up to $50,000 per month for their TikTok effects! Most recently, we’ve made some exciting updates to the program that expand monetization opportunities to more creators. Today, we’re debunking three common myths about Effect Creator Rewards and highlighting how creators of all levels can get paid for creating TikTok effects.

Myth #1: Only top creators can join Effect Creator Rewards

Getting paid opportunities with Effect Creator Rewards is easier than ever! You don’t need to have a lot of TikTok followers or generate millions of views. To join the program, eligible creators simply need to have the Gold Badge, which can be unlocked with just a handful of published effects.

In fact, we’ve lowered our eligibility requirements for getting rewards. Previously, creators needed an effect to have been used in 200,000 qualified videos before the effect could start collecting cash rewards. Now, an effect only needs to be used in 100,000 qualified public videos to begin collecting rewards. We’ve also updated the program’s payout structure so that more creators can collect cash rewards.

Finally, Effect Creator Rewards is now available to creators in 53 regions across the globe! To learn more about these exciting changes, check out our Explore the Latest Updates to Effect Creator Rewards blog post.

Myth #2: Only color filters and makeup effects get cash rewards

Actually, effects of all types are collecting rewards! Some of the effects that have been performing well lately are:

1. Games

Games are a huge hit and work really well with video creation. If you’re looking to expand your reach as a creator, they’re a great way to tap into TikTok’s vast and vibrant gaming community.

2. Interactive effects

Interactive effects that are created with visual scripting are more likely to trend on TikTok. Pro tip: Create your effect like it’s a toolkit for creators to make a video or participate in a trend rather than a simple camera overlay.
