Add a Hand Tracker

Add a Hand Tracker object by clicking + > AR Tracking > Hand Tracker.

Note
Note

The object will only follow one hand.

Attach a 3D Object to the Hand

Navigate to the Hierarchy panel and click + > 3D > Sphere to add a Sphere to the scene. To ensure that the Sphere follows the hand, you must parent the Sphere object under the Hand Tracker object.

Hand Tracker Properties

You can change which part of the hand the Sphere object follows and how it follows the hand. Select the Hand Tracker from the Hierarchy panel and navigate to the Inspector panel.

Anchor: Select which parts of the hand you want your objects to follow. It is set to Hand Center by default, but you can modify it to track specific fingers or the wrist.

  • Hand Center (default), Thumb Tip, Index Finger Tip, Middle Finger Tip, Ring Finger Tip, Pinkie Tip, Thumb, Index Finger, Middle Finger, Ring Finger, Pinkie, and Wrist.

Rotate Axis Z: The object will follow the rotation of the hand or finger along the Z axis.

Advanced Setting:

  • Distance to Screen: Adjusts the distance of the object from the screen. The larger the value, the further away it will move from the screen. The default value is 20.
