Pet Face Inset
Use Face Inset to cut out selected parts of the face and add it to your scene. You can make cutouts of a cat or dog’s eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and face. You can then add the inset to any place you want.


In the demos below, you will learn how to swap your face with your pet. Download the following files to get started:
Add a Face Inset Object
Add Face Inset to the scene by clicking the Add button [+] > Face Effects > Face Inset. When a Face Inset is added to the scene, it can be found nested under a Face Binding object.

Object Hierarchy
Starting in Effect House v2.0.0, the Face Inset object, along with its corresponding Face Binding object, is automatically added to the Effects render group in the Hierarchy panel. Learn more about render groups.

Move a Face Inset Object
After adding the Face Inset object, the Transform component of the Face Inset object will be set to the best practice number. You can modify these values.

Configure Face Inset for a Dog
Configure Face Binding
Click the Face Binding object in the Hierarchy panel. Locate the Face Binding component in the Inspector panel.
Configure the Face Binding component:
- For Which Face, select the number of faces you want to attach to the effect.
- Dog face tracking is not supported for Tracking Target.
Configure Face Inset
Click the Face Inset object in the Hierarchy panel. Locate the Face Inset component in the Inspector panel.
Configure the Face Inset component:
- Change Face Type to Dog Face.

- Optionally, for Face Area, select the part of the dog face you want to mask.

Configure Face Inset for a Cat
Configure Face Binding
Click the Face Binding object in the Hierarchy panel. Locate the Face Binding component in the Inspector panel.
Configure the Face Binding component:
- For Which Face, select the number of faces you want to attach to the effect.
- Select or deselect Invisible when tracking is lost.
- Change Tracking Target to Cat.

Configure Face Inset
Click the Face Inset object in the Hierarchy panel. Locate the Face Inset component in the Inspector panel.
Configure the Face Inset component:
- Change Face Type to Cat.
- Optionally, for Face Area, select the part for cat face you want to mask.

Demo Effect: Swap Your Face With Your Cat
Download the following demo effect to learn how to swap your face with your cat.

- You’ll need two sets of Face Binding + Face Inset to create this effect.
- Create one Face Inset object by clicking + > Face Effects > Face Inset.Name the Face Binding object Human Face Binding, and the Face Inset object Cat Face Inset.
- Duplicate the Human Face Binding + Cat Face Inset objects. Rename Human Face Binding(1) to Cat Face Binding, and Cat Face Inset toHuman Face Inset.
- Configure the Human Face Binding object to track the human face.
- Change the Tracking Target of the Face Binding component to Cat.
- Configure the Cat Face Inset object to get the Cat Face Inset.
- Change the Face Type of the Face Inset component to Cat Face.
- Change the Face Type of the Face Inset component to Cat Face.
- Adjust the Scale of the Transform to cover the human face area.
- Configure the Cat Face Binding to track the cat face.
- Configure the Human Face Inset to get the human face inset.
- Select the correct preview video to preview the effect.
