Make Your First Effect: Makeup
This basic tutorial will help you familiarize yourself with the tool, basic effects, and the general creation process.

Prepare Assets
Download Adobe® Photoshop® and the PNG files created for this makeup effect. Learn more about creating custom make-up assets from scratch.
To briefly go over how this particular makeup effect is created from scratch, take a look at the Adobe® Photoshop® file. If you want to dive right into making the effect, skip to the Create a Face Effect section below.
First, adjust the Hue/Saturation color of the Eye_Shadow layer.

You can turn the visibility of any existing layers on or off by clicking the Eye icon. For this tutorial, keep the Liner and Lashes_Bold.

Then add a new layer and start drawing the right eye shadow wing with the Lasso (L) tool. Fill the selection with black. Go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise to add the sparkle texture. Go to Filter > Filter Gallery > Artistic > Watercolor to create a dispersed sparkle texture. Make the layer blend mode Screen. Try any other filter effects on the layers and explore! You’re then going to duplicate and horizontally flip the eye shadow and fit it onto the left eye. Or you can turn on the symmetry function.

Next we’ll add some under-eye shadow on a new layer and use the Smudge tool to make the end fade more naturally. Make sure to apply makeup to both eyes and merge the layers afterwards for organizational purposes.

Add some other elements to make it unique. In this tutorial, add a yellow sparkly line above the eye and emojis on the cheeks. Just make sure everything is under the Eye artboard.

Adjust the Lip_Closed color the same way you adjusted the eye shadow color.

Select the artboard you want to export and go to File > Export > Artboard to Files.
Change the export settings to Artboard Content Only, select the Export Selected Artboards checbox, deselect the Include Background in Export checkbox, and then change the File Type to PNG-24.
Click Run to confirm and export. You will get the PNGs from all or individual artboards that are in the correct format for the effect.

Create a Face Effect
Import the texture by clicking the Add button [+] > Import > From Computer in the Assets panel. Select all three PNGs: Eye, EyeLash, and Lip.

In addition to using other textures, there is built-in Opacity Texture in Effect House, where you can directly adjust the color to create makeup effects.

Create an Eye Color
Add an Eye Color by clicking the Add button [+] > Face Effects > Eye Color in the Hierarchy panel. You can use the built-in materials and Color selector to adjust the eye color.
